Literature Text

I miss summer rain.
Thunderstorms
so loud
they rattle your
soul.
Lightnings flash.
The smell of ozone.
Earthworms coming to the surface,
in fear of suffocation.
Puddles,
holding the sky,
by reflection.
Rainbows
that beckon back
childhood wishes.
Simply the sound
of the rain
falling on the roof.
I grew up in the East. I now live in the dry West.
It's raining right now back home.
I'd love to fall asleep to the sound of rain again.
